Caring Intervention Level 3 - Control and Restraint (3 day)
When you achieve a Level 3 qualification in Caring Intervention (control and restraint), you will have the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to act appropriately, safely, legally, effectively and professionally when dealing with control and restraint situations in highly challenging situations, where there is significant risk of harm.
At the end of this 3 day course you will be able to:

Define, deal and cope with conflict

Understand and use appropriate and effective de-escalation skills

Differentiate between holding, escorting and restraining

Understand the law and legislation, including the use of reasonable force

Understand inappropriate and dangerous techniques

Assess the risks associated with physical restraint and know how to minimise these (including positional asphyxiation)

Know when it may be necessaary to use a more restrictive technique consistent wht the principles of reasonable force, health and safety statute and the Human Rights Act

Understand the requirements of the various pieces of legislation with regard to the Physical Restraint of Vulnerable People.

Effectively use non-harmful breakaway techniques and methods of control and restrictive practices (safe hold) and demonstrate understanding and the ability to effectively use restraint techniques and restrictive methods of control.
We will show you a practical approach to physical intervention, with techniques that work. We will concentrate on giving you the skills and knowledge you need, with no new terminology, jargon or over complicated moves.
